End Of A Season

Well, today wraps up the 2021 season, and I was able to go out on this trip with my girlfriend. We were not able to track down any Orca, but we found something even better and more elusive! An eagle-eye guest spotted a rare Sea Otter which is something I have never seen on any of the trips I have been on to the point that myself and the Naturalist had our doubts that it was just a log or kelp. We pointed our lenses where they said it was though and sure enough in the kelp floating around was a genuine Sea Otter! The was a huge treat and perfect as my girlfriend has an extreme passion and love (obsession) for Sea Otters so this was amazing to see one in the wild. After hanging out until our Sea Otter got shy and swam away we headed out and found two humpbacks BCZ0155 - Manta and an unidentified friend. Following them pointed us towards two more humpbacks! The second pair of humpbacks were BCX0082 - Puck and an unnamed MMY0024 who we hung out with for a while. The seas were a little rough as we were entering the winter season but the trip was good and a great end to my biggest season with Island Adventure yet.
