Whales, Whales, and Wildlife in Maui
Humpback whales migrate in the winter to warmer waters for birthing and I thought they might be on to something. Opting to travel for a vacation and not birthing I just got back from a vacation to Maui, Hawaii. While there I was able to enjoy dozens of whale encounters.

Double Header (AM)
Memorial Day Weekend had the "packed" the Island Explorer 5 was back at A Dock from its tempoary home during construction of the new dock. We headed south right away toward Smith Rock looking for whale activity during low tide. While observing a bait ball a Minke surfaced just right off the bow.

Heading out on April first I should have known what was in store!
Let’s Make A Weekend Of It
Being opening weekend I decided to go back to back and headed back out onto the water again. The sun was gone today and the winds had picked up so things were nowhere as nice as yesterday, but we headed out to see what we might find.
