On A Whim
Having taken the day off for a dental appointment I decided why not go out for some whales. The boat was very empty today so it was a good day to be out. Fall is definitely beginning and it was a tad chilly on the water. We ran south towards Port Townsend again, and on our way down saw some Sea Lions. Once we arrived on sight the pod was quickly ID'd as the T37's thanks to T037A4 Crinkle's identifiable dorsal. We parreled the pod for awhile until they pulled a 180 on us and came head on and passed right by us for some great shots. We were sideway to the waves though and getting tossed around a bit so shots were a challenge to keep pointed at the subject. We headed back to port after a little longer with them on the way in we spotted some seals and herons. All in all it was a good trip out.
