The Elusive Sploosh (AM)
Taking advantage of the holiday I decided to do double and set out for a morning trip. Setting out for the morning run we made a print out of the harbor passing a Harbor seal right out of the gate. We set off towards the southern tip of San Juan Island where there had been morning reports of seeing J-Pod. We hussled that direction as we had to get there before 12PM to view them before the legal cut off window where we could not approach Resident Orcas. We made it on time and while on sight we got to see J22 Oreo and her daughter J38 Cookie. We also got to see J26 Mike who was kind enough to breach for us and I was lucky enough to catch it! After just a little while with J-Pod the clock struck noon and we had to say goodbye. We headed off to see what else we could find spotting a few stellar sea lions on some rocks with some brown pelicans. We then headed inter islands to chase down a few Biggs. We were able to track them down and identify them as the T18/19's but did not hang around too often as we had to cut a path through the islands home.
